Day 867
South Africa reported 80 deaths yesterday. Cases and deaths seem to have peaked now and are trending down now. 31,6% of the population are fully vaccinated and 38,2% have had at least 1 dose. 5,4% of the population has had a booster shot.
Let’s look at the top 10 lists for yesterday.
In Western Europe, cases and deaths are trending down. In the EU 73,9% of the population are fully vaccinated and 76,1% have had at least 1 dose. 52,9% of the population has had a booster shot. The EU and Western Europe are not the same but there is a large overlap between them so I think it is useful to quote EU vaccinations to provide context for this graph.
In the UK cases and deaths are trending down.
In the US deaths are still trending down while cases seem to have peaked now. 66,0% of the population are fully vaccinated and 77,2% have had at least 1 dose. 30,8% of the population has had a booster shot.
In Israel, cases and deaths are very low now. 66,6% of the population are fully vaccinated, 76,6% have had at least 1 dose and 57,6% have had a booster shot.
In Denmark, all Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted from February 2022 (day 740). 82,4% of the population are fully vaccinated, 83,0% have had at least 1 dose and 62,5% have had a booster shot.
Globally, cases and deaths are trending down. More than 12 billion doses of vaccine have been administered—153 shots for every 100 people worldwide.
